COMMON QUESTIONS
What is a postpartum doula?
A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides emotional and physical support to postpartum mothers and families after a newborn comes home after birth.
What does a typical postpartum shift look like?
At the beginning of each shift I will take some time to connect with you to see how you and your family are doing, and to decide what will be most helpful for you that day. This touch-base time can be spent answering questions that have come up since the last meeting, or just for a chance to vent to an understanding ear. If you need a nap or shower or just a break, I’m there to take care of baby and your home while you take that time for yourself. This is your time, and I’m there for you to support you in whatever way will help most while you care for your baby. If you need dinner prepped and started, I can help with that. Laundry needs to be started or folded? Bottles or dishes need to be washed? I can help! This is about having an extra set of hands to help with whatever needs to get done so you can focus on bonding with your baby.
What does a postpartum doula do?
Postpartum doulas offer a range of services, including but not limited to emotional and physical support, meal preparation, household care and light housekeeping, sibling and partner support, newborn care education, and informational referrals as needed.
Do you offer overnight support?
At this time I only offer daytime support, but I can refer you to other wonderful doulas who offer overnight support.
